What is Investing in Communities (IiC)?
Investing in Communities is a regional programme from the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) designed to ensure "through a new, long term, 'joined up' approach to community regeneration.that all our communities, of place and of interest, can participate in and benefit from the development of our region" (EEDA).

The IiC programme's priorities are firmly focused on finding solutions to the barriers which are experienced by some of our communities around the three key drivers for productivity growth: skills, employment and enterprise
IiC in Hertfordshire
The IiC programme for Hertfordshire has been developed by Hertfordshire Prosperity with the Hertfordshire IiC Partnership. Our vision is "to create strong, vibrant local communities that secure a more equitable share of resources, are responsive to economic and social change, and ready to grasp opportunities and overcome setbacks."
IiC in Hertfordshire is progressing well. Since April 2007 the Hertfordshire programme has focused on the most deprived wards of Hertfordshire, namely: Bedwell in Stevenage, Cowley Hill in Hertsmere (Borehamwood) and Waltham Cross in Broxbourne (particularly the Holdbrook estate). IiC has developed projects and activities to engage better at a local level in these areas. Many of our projects have now been running for 2 years and are really making a difference to people in our target communities.
